Obesity treatment

Modern and non-surgical aid in the treatment of obesity consists of inserting a soft expandable balloon in the stomach. The balloon is constructed of special silicone that is resistant to gastric acidity making it one of the most effective and safest obesity treatment methods. The balloon is introduced through the mouth with no need for surgery. The swallowing process via gastroscopy is made painless with the help of anaesthetics. The main action or mechanism of the balloon filled with saline fluid consists in partially filling the stomach, thus inducing satiety and restricting food intake. After 6 months of treatment the balloon is painlessly removed via gastroscopy. If used in conjunction with a diet prescribed by our doctors, a patient can lose from 15 to 25 kg. The patient is required to stay in hospital for 3 days.

Hernia treatment

Our surgeons have many years of experience in using synthetic mesh implants for tension-free hernia surgery. A small piece of mesh is used to repair the defect in the muscle tissue. With time the tissue and mesh integrate to form a firm structure preventing the relapse of hernia. The patient is required to stay in hospital for 2 days.

This programme is mainly addressed to busy over-30 year olds who have no time for bouncing from one doctor to another and want to avoid waitlists. It is recommended that every healthy individual should undergo a comprehensive medical check-up to confirm their good health or identify any abnormalities at an early stage as it is far better to prevent rather than cure. Check-up plans are customised. If identified early, a disease can be cured more effectively.

Having undergone all prescribed test, the patient is assigned to his individual therapeutic path. The entire procedure takes about 9 hours. Upon request, the patient may be accompanied by an interpreter guide.

PillCam capsule endoscopy*

PillCam Capsule Endoscopy enables our doctor to examine the three portions (duodenum, jejunum, ileum) of your small intestine. The doctor will use a vitamin-pill sized video capsule as an endoscope, which has its own lens and light source. While the video capsule travels through your body, images are sent to a datarecorder you will wear on a waistbelt. Afterwards the doctor will view the images on a video monitor.
